Rome is a very popular destination for Church weddings abroad. There are a wide variety of Churches available for couples to choose from.

We have been very fortunate over the years to form a solid working relationship with the Priests in Rome. On every trip to Rome we visit the Priests and their Churches and keep in contact with them on a regular basis whilst here in Ireland. Through this association with them we have assisted many couples to get married in Rome.

The Priest in Rome will assist you with the church arrangements and advise you of the paperwork he requires to be completed prior to your wedding.

San Silvestro
The Chiesa di San Silvestro lends its name to the square where it is located. The Church is also known as "in capite" because it boasts the head of Saint John the Baptist as a relic. The Church has undergone various stages of restoration. The first took place at the beginning of the 13th century when the bell tower was added, and the next was between the 16th and 17th centuries when it assumed its present aspect. Other work was carried out during the later centuries. The façade is richly decorated with capitals, pilaster strips, and an inscription. The façade also contains two huge statues. The Church’s interior is also interesting, and is entered through a portico rich in fragments of memorial stones and plaques. It is the perfect Church to celebrate your marriage in and is very popular with our clients. All Priests here are english speaking so your ceremony will be conducted in english.

St Patrick’s Church
St. Patrick’s in Rome opened in 1911.  The facade of the church is described as being close to the Pisan or Florentine style of the 13th Century.  The church has beautiful mosaics and Celtic style cathedral windows

The Irish College
The Irish College is located on Via dei Santi Quattro, near Piazza San Giovanni in Laterano. Founded in 1628, this is the last of the many Irish Colleges that were once scattered over Europe when it was not possible to educate priests in Ireland. Today the College is home to 60 students, with half coming from Ireland and the others representing many different nations. .

St Isidores
St Isidores is another Church offering Irish Weddings in Rome; it is located not far from San Silvestro. We are able to book a photographer and/or a videographer aswel as everything else to make your day special from start to finish.

St Isidores is in a perfect location to take some beautiful pictures of you and your loved one in front of the Spanish Steps.

Papal Audience
We are happy to advise couples on how to obtain tickets for the Wednesday Audience in the presence of the Holy Father if required. While you may choose to follow the usual formal dress code for people attending a Papal Audience, it is recommended that you wear you wedding dress/suit.  The Papal Audience usually takes place on Wednesdays.
