A Mediterranean gem, Malta is located between Italy and the north cost of Africa.  The island has played host to numerous cultures such as Romans and Ancient Greeks, the influences of which are still evident throught Malta today.  The narrow cobblestone streets are crowded with Renaissance Cathedrals and baroque palaces.

Although Maltas climate is characterized by long hot summers and comparatively little rainfall, there is a surprising abundance of attractive public gardens which can be found all over the Maltese Islands. Several of these gardens are situated on Malta~s historic bastions and have the added bonus of offering visitors spectacular sea and harbour views. Others are to be found in the heart of our towns and villages and provide a green oasis of tranquility amongst the buildings.

St Julians
St Julians was initially a fishing village, later turned into a summer residence for wealthy locals and has now been developed into one of the Island~s mostly fetching resorts for night life and entertainment.

Walk along the promenade and discover Spinola Bay which is still used by the local fishermen to colourful picturesque scene.  The area also boasts an array of local bars and restaurants romantically set overlooking the sea.

Valletta
Valletta is Maltas capital city whose fortress is listed as a World Heritage Site and commercial heart of the Island. Nowhere in Malta is the life of the Islands reflected more than here. The city is busy by day, yet retains a relaxed timeless atmosphere by night.

The grid of narrow streets house some of Europe~s finest art works, Churches and palaces.  Situated approx. 20 minutes from the lively resort of St. Julians, Valletta is ideal for those couples looking to escape the hussle and bustle of the lively areas.

Gozo
To get to Gozo you take a 30 minute ferry trip from Malta~s northernmost tip, during which you sail past Comino with its glorious Blue Lagoon. Alternatively you can take the helicopter service from Malta International Airport, a trip which normally takes 10 to 15 minutes. Whichever way you choose, on landing you are instantly captured by the island~s serene charm and beauty.

At every turn one finds oleanders, geraniums and bourgainvillae in full bloom in summer and lush crops in the fields in winter, while picturesque villages with imposing baroque parish Churches and charming farmhouses dot the countryside.

Shopping
Shopping is a cultural window on the island with it~s colourful markets, quaint old shops in Valletta’s backstreets and the latest continental fashions in shopping plazas. You’ll find plenty of tempting must-buys to take home.

For a taste of the Mediterranean, choose among the many local deli treats from olives and sun-dried tomatoes to fine wines. If you want something to appreciate for longer, try the intricate, filigree silverware or a work from one of the Islands’ renowned artists.
